What are Poffertjes?
Poffertjes are a batter-based dish traditionally eaten in the Netherlands. They are small pancakes that are thicker due to the batter rising.
Poffertjes have been eaten in the Netherlands since 1650 and are considered a typical Dutch recipe. Authentic poffertjes stalls can be found everywhere at funfairs, markets, and events in the Netherlands.
Poffertjes are baked on special large griddles with many indentations (called doppen). During baking, the poffertjes are flipped so they become nicely round and stay soft on the inside.
In the Netherlands, poffertjes are traditionally served at poffertjes stalls in portions of 10–12 pieces on a plate or in a small bowl, with a piece of butter in the middle and dusted with powdered sugar.

Our poffertjes baker can make approximately 600–1,000 poffertjes per hour – enough for 60–100 portions of 10 pieces each.
